As a travel RN on a Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit, you'll expand your clinical expertise while experiencing firsthand the value of diverse clinical settings, leadership styles, and workplace practices. Professional growth is at the forefront of this role: you'll care for complex cardiac, renal, surgical, and respiratory patients in a fast-paced, 24-bed stepdown environment. Exposure to multiple disciplines, cardiac drips, advanced equipment, and interdisciplinary teams will strengthen your skill set and leadership capabilities, enhancing your resume and setting you apart for future opportunities.
Schedule/Hours:
Day shifts Required to work every other weekend and some major holidaysQualifications & Desired Experience:
Current, active RN license (compact or state-specific) At least 1 year of RN experience; 6 months acute care preferred Proficiency in EKG interpretation (must pass EKG exam during orientation)Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
(all required) Must be capable of drawing labs Strong communication, collaboration, adaptability, and documentation skillsResponsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and create care plans Administer medications and monitor cardiac drips/titrations Serve as a key contact for patient care coordination Utilize BiPAP, Alaris pumps, PCA, bedside monitors, and lifting equipment Respond swiftly to changes in patient conditions Educate patients and families, advocate for patient needs, and promote safe, quality care in line with practice modelsBenefits & Perks:
