Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Travel A contract opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse on a Stepdown (PCU) unit. This role requires advanced clinical skills and a commitment to exceptional patient care for adult and geriatric populations in a fast-paced, 33-bed unit specializing in cardiac telemetry, vascular, and medical-surgical/stepdown care. The assignment spans 13 weeks and seeks travel candidates only.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour night shifts Every other weekend required Every other holiday required
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Active RN license (in-state or compact) Minimum of 2 years RN experience BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certification (from approved sources) Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide provided) Experience with cardiac/stepdown/telemetry care Proficiency with lines, drains, devices (PICC, dialysis caths, chest/NG/PEG tubes, wound vacs, etc.) Comfortable with airway management (trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, etc.) Familiarity with administration of drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin) Strong documentation skills (EPIC preferred) Navy blue scrubs required
Preferred:
BSN, CCRN or PCCN certification, Critical Care course, and prior
EPIC EHR
training Experience with care coordination, patient and family education, and quality improvement initiatives
