Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Travel Discover the charm of Saint Anthony, ND, while furthering your professional journey as a travel surgical assistant in a vibrant and supportive setting. Schedule/Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Call required: One shift each week (3:30pm - 7:00am the following day) One weekend call shift every 4 weeks
Role Overview:
You'll become an essential member of a high-performing surgical care team, primarily focusing on advanced cardiovascular procedures—CABG, angiograms, endarterectomies, aortic root repairs, valve replacements, AAA repairs, and more. In addition to these specialized cases, you'll also assist in general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, and plastics procedures, gaining exposure to a diverse surgical caseload and contributing to both main and outpatient surgery centers.
What You'll Do:
Provide strong surgical assistance for cardiovascular and general operative cases Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and technologists in both hospital and outpatient settings (across the street) Adhere to current best practices while utilizing computerized charting (EPIC), Stryker laparoscopic equipment, Covidien cauteries, and more Float as needed between 12 ORs at the main facility and 6 ORs at the outpatient center
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years of surgical assisting experience Competency in cardiovascular and basic general surgery procedures BLS certification required Open to a week-long, structured orientation with experienced preceptors
