Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a Traveling Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support projects and service work at water plants, wastewater facilities, booster pumping stations, valve sites, and related utility infrastructure . This position is for a hands-on technician with strong electrical troubleshooting skills who can work in the field and in the shop. The role includes wiring controls and instrumentation, wiring PLCs, building and wiring control panels, running conduit and wire, troubleshooting electrical and control systems, assisting with panel design, startup, service work, and customer support . The ideal candidate is dependable, practical, self-motivated, and able to represent the company professionally at customer sites. Responsibilities Travel to customer sites to perform installation, service, startup, and troubleshooting work Wire PLCs, control panels, instrumentation, motor controls, and related electrical equipment Install and terminate control wiring, power wiring, and field instrumentation wiring Run conduit, pull wire, label wiring, and complete electrical installations Troubleshoot electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation loops, and field devices Assist with panel layout, panel design, and panel modifications Build, wire, and test control panels in the shop and field Install, configure, and troubleshoot instrumentation such as level, flow, pressure, and analyzer devices Perform startup and checkout of control systems and instrumentation Read and work from electrical schematics, panel drawings, loop drawings, and control documents Interface directly with customers, operators, contractors, and plant personnel Complete service reports, startup documentation, and field records Assist with repairs and upgrades at pump stations, valve vaults, booster stations, and treatment facilities Work safely and professionally in industrial and municipal environments Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and repair of valves, pumps, and other associated systems. Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Experience in industrial electrical, instrumentation, controls, or field service work Strong electrical troubleshooting skills Experience wiring control panels, PLCs, relays, motor starters, VFDs, and instrumentation Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings Experience running conduit, pulling wire, and making clean, professional terminations Working knowledge of industrial control systems and field instrumentation Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers Valid driver's license and willingness to travel Preferred Qualifications Experience in water and wastewater facilities Experience wiring and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLC systems Experience with instrumentation calibration and loop checking Experience building and laying out control panels Experience with VFDs, pumps, lift stations, booster stations, and valve control systems Startup and commissioning experience Mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with equipment-related troubleshooting Associate degree, technical training, or apprenticeship in electrical, instrumentation, automation, or related field What We're Looking For Someone who is strong electrically and takes pride in neat, accurate work A technician who can troubleshoot instead of just swapping parts Someone comfortable working both in panels and in the field A person who communicates well with customers and represents the company professionally Someone who is organized, dependable, and able to travel as needed Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience plus bonus Travel-related compensation/per diem as applicable Company vehicle, phone, and computer Health insurance / retirement / PTO / training / tool allowance Opportunity to work on essential public infrastructure projects To Apply Please send your resume and a brief summary of your experience with industrial electrical work, controls, instrumentation, PLC wiring, and troubleshooting .
