  • Southern Illinois About Us Oak Hill Contractors is a family-owned earthmoving company based in Southern Illinois, specializing in large-scale dirt work and site development.
We work on demanding projects including coal mines, landfills, quarries, USACE jobs, and solar field construction. If your background is mass excavation and heavy civil earthwork, and you're used to running production-focused job sites with GPS-equipped equipment, this is the role for you. What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead and supervise crews on large-scale earthmoving and mass excavation projects
  • Manage daily site operations to ensure production, efficiency, and safety goals are met
  • Work directly with the Superintendent to execute project plans
  • Coordinate and oversee dozers (GPS), excavators, scrapers/tractor pans, haul trucks, graders, and skid steers
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA and safety standards
  • Problem-solve in real time to keep projects moving
  • Travel to job sites as needed What We're Looking For (Read This Carefully) We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience in mass excavation and dirt work.
Required:
  • Proven experience supervising earthwork/excavation crews
  • Strong background in mass grading, cut/fill operations, and production-based dirt work
Preferred:
  • OSHA 30
  • Experience working on mine sites, landfills, quarries, or large civil projects
  • Familiarity with GPS machine control systems
  • MSHA 5000-23
    Surface Certification
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (not just managing from a distance)
