Job Description

The Truss Delivery Driver plays a critical role in the safe and efficient transportation of truss components to various construction sites. This position requires the individual to operate commercial vehicles responsibly while ensuring that all truss materials are loaded, secured, and delivered without damage. The role demands close coordination with warehouse and construction teams to maintain timely delivery schedules and support project timelines. Additionally, the driver is responsible for performing routine vehicle inspections and adhering to all safety regulations to promote a secure working environment. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall success of construction projects by ensuring that essential structural components arrive on site in optimal condition and on time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class operated. Proven experience operating commercial trucks or similar heavy vehicles. Strong knowledge of vehicle safety regulations and transportation laws. Ability to safely load, secure, and unload heavy oversized truss materials. Physical capability to handle manual labor associated with loading and unloading.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the construction or building materials transportation industry. Familiarity with truss components and construction site protocols. Basic mechanical skills for vehicle troubleshooting and minor repairs. Excellent time management and communication skills. Clean driving record with no recent violations.
Responsibilities:
Operate commercial trucks to transport truss materials from the warehouse to construction sites safely and efficiently. Load and unload truss components carefully, ensuring proper securing to prevent damage during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Maintain accurate delivery logs, including times, mileage, and any incidents encountered during transportation. Collaborate with warehouse staff and site supervisors to coordinate delivery schedules and address any logistical challenges. Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation laws and company safety policies. Assist with minor maintenance tasks on vehicles and equipment as needed to ensure operational readiness. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
