Turn Shack Attendant Must be able to work days and weekends
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Turn Shack Supervisor, Sous Chef or Executive Chef, the Turn Shack Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages at the Club's Turn Shack. This role is essential in providing a friendly, welcoming, and high-quality experience for members and guests. The Turn Shack Attendant upholds the Club's mission and vision by delivering attentive service and maintaining a clean, efficient, and well-stocked service area.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve food and beverages in a prompt, professional manner at the Club's Turn Shack. Create a friendly and hospitable environment for members and guests. Provide outstanding customer service with a focus on anticipating and fulfilling member and guest needs. Learn and remember members' names and preferences to deliver a personalized service experience. Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items and preparation methods; communicate this clearly to members and guests. Accurately process orders using the Point of Sale (POS) system and ensure all transactions and chit charges are correctly assigned and documented. Follow opening and closing procedures for the Turn Shack, including set-up, breakdown, and cleaning. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with Serve Safe guidelines and club safety protocols. Manage inventory levels by organizing stock, monitoring usage, and communicating shortages or needs to management. Address and resolve member concerns promptly; escalate issues to management when needed. Assist with special events as assigned by the Turn Shack Supervisor, Executive Chef, or Sous Chef. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Turn Shack Supervisor or Club Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Outgoing, courteous, and customer-focused personality. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities. Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to member satisfaction.
Education, Certification, and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior food service or hospitality experience preferred. Serve Safe or similar food safety certification is a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Must be able to move efficiently between simultaneous functions and handle multiple demands. Physical activities include standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motions. Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. when moving carts or equipment. Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity for handling food service equipment and transactions. Frequent interaction and communication with members, guests, and supervisors.
