SUMMARY/SCOPE
Implements the daily operations of various university fundraising programs and activities.

ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal strategies designed to increase philanthropic support for Hardin-Simmons University. Execute meaningful stewardship activities to ensure donors understand the impact of their gifts and remain engaged with the university. Prepare donor proposals, impact reports, thank-you communications, and other donor engagement materials as needed. Work with campus partners (i.e. academics, athletics, and student clubs and organizations) to identify funding priorities and develop fundraising strategies that increase philanthropic support for their areas. Assist campus partners in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, annual giving initiatives, donor engagement events, and special projects. Provide appropriate staffing at advancement and alumni events. Accurately document donor interactions, proposals, solicitations, stewardship activities, and relationship strategies within the university's constituent relationship management system in a timely manner. Meet established fundraising goals and key performance indicators, including donor visits, qualification activities, solicitations, stewardship efforts, and philanthropic revenue targets. Strategically plan and implement objectives with key contacts. Collaborate with university leadership, faculty, coaches, alumni, volunteers, and advancement colleagues to identify and advance fundraising opportunities. Manage individual supplies, operations and travel budgets. Must maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under university guidelines. Foster teamwork with fellow team members. Attend life events for donors and their family members. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Project Management software; Order processing systems; Internet software; Development software and Contact Management systems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required. 2-5+ years of previous related work experience is preferred, Must understand generational differences and be able to effectively utilize the appropriate medium to reach different audiences. Strong organizational skills required. Must know and use proper telephone etiquette. Must have strong computer, relationship management, and customer service skills. Must be proficient with computers, comfortable talking on the phone and in meetings, sitting for long periods of time and have ability to drive for extensive work-related travel. Relevant experience in fundraising, sales, relationship management, customer service, higher education, or related fields may be considered in lieu of degree requirements where appropriate. Must be able to maintain confidentiality concerning financial records and other personal information. The above requirements will be validated through the written competencies provided by the applicant in addition to the interview process and reference checks regarding past employment experience, etc.
TRAVEL/TIME REQUIREMENTS
: This position requires frequent travel. Evening and weekend work required, especially as part of travel. Occasional holiday work required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt/Hourly Staff Position. A minimum of a 40-hour work week is expected. Irregular hours and evening and weekend work and/or assignments beyond a 40-hour week is required during peak season and/or to meet project deadlines is required. All hours worked beyond 40 hours in a single work week will be compensated at time and a half, per FLSA guidelines. Frequent travel is required, including evenings and weekends, especially as part of travel. Occasionally holiday work is also required. Additional travel may be required on occasion to attend training workshops on occasion. Must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable under the university liability policy. Must be able to drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
