JOB SUMMARY

The Ultrasound Technologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for conducting high-quality and cost-effective diagnostic procedures, providing assistance during medical procedures, offering excellent customer service, and ensuring effective communication with patients, family members, physicians, medical staff, and colleagues. They are required to attend in-services, annual reviews, and educational programs while staying knowledgeable about radiological examination procedures, equipment, and relevant changes in the field.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs high quality/cost effective diagnostic procedures. Assists Physicians and medical staff during procedures as requested/required. Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner. Communicate effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, medical staff, and NMMC staff members. Attends required in-services, annual review and educational programs. Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Radiological examinations. Stay abreast of changes in Radiology. Adheres to

NMHS/NMMC

Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues. Organize work flow to prevent delays and control cost through appropriate use of supplies. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Associate's Degree Graduate of approved school of Ultrasound Technology.. Required Licenses and Certifications ARDMS

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Registered by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. . Required ARRT
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Registered by the American Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). . Preferred Licensed Radiologic Technologist. Licensed by the State of Mississippi (MRT). . Preferred CPR
• Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.

American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification;. . Required Work Experience . . Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently to assure quality. Good written and verbal communication; required Serves patient population categories of neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Organize work flow to prevent patient delays. Work well with ordering Physicians to assure accurate information provided. Assist fellow team members as needed to provide high quality patient care.
