Overview We are seeking highly skilled Unmanned Aircraft System Group 1-3 and Group 4 Expertise

  • Aviation Military Analyst to join our team at Fort Rucker as we provide professional support services for T2COM subordinate units.
In this dynamic role, you will leverage your extensive military-specific capabilities, specialized knowledge and critical thinking skills. Your expertise will help enhance the mission of Aviation Future Capability Directorate (A-FCD) through detailed analysis, enduring force modernization efforts and supporting the fielding of emerging capabilities. General Responsibilities Provide the necessary subject matter expertise, and have the ability to perform the tasks required for integration and synchronization Conduct analysis of Aviation organizations in support of formation-based assessments, simulation activities, and annual capabilities needs assessments. Tailor methodology and conduct analysis to best examine Aviation tasks, conditions, standards, and gaps across select Aviation formations. Write/support the revision or re-writing of a substantial number of JCIDS, supporting, and new emerging requirements documents. Review each of the manned/unmanned platform programs and analyze to determine the validity of their capability. Enduring Aviation portfolio modernization strategies and fielding of current and future aviation systems. Qualifications Unmanned Aircraft System Group 1-3 and Group 4 Expertise Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience Small Unmanned Aircraft System Expertise and Autonomy 5+ years First Person View quadcopter/drone experience (building, flying, programming, etc.) FAA Part 107 certification FCC Technician Amateur Radio License Experience utilizing Beta flight, iNAV, Ardupilot (and/or any clones) to program, fly, and troubleshoot semi-autonomous and autonomous systems Experience in C, C++ in the context of Command Line Interfaces (CLI) in flight controller programming Knowledge of sUAS power systems, design considerations, component selection and limiting factors, challenges/risks, and ability to work closely and effectively with technical contributors Background speaking to stakeholders, both individuals and groups, ranging from technical individual contributors to senior level executives Documented ability to translate technical concepts into digestible formats based on audience knowledge level Ability to autonomously develop and execute plans based on broad/ambiguous requirements while keeping stakeholders informed of status changes Military experience with tactical UAS (Group 3) or smaller (not Raven/Puma) or equivalent non-standard or sUAS experience in another field i.e. First Responders, Commercial Delivery, Forestry, Inspections, etc. Strong technical and analytical skills with ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledgeable on DOTMLPF and associated capabilities and requirements creation process Ability to travel 50% of the time Active Secret Clearance required and eligible for
TS/SCI Preferred:
Computer Aided Design (CAD) and additive/subtractive manufacturing background (i.e. 3D printing or CNC) Additional fixed wing, LOS, and BVLOS experience Stakeholder-facing technical program management, preferably in the defense, national security, or aerospace domains Experience in rolling out organizational process changes Project Management Professional preferred (depending on Military project background, this is important to show critical thinking in a team environment where they are a critical piece of a larger puzzle, also provides a solid base for industry stakeholder engagement, management, and mutual understanding). Unmanned Aircraft System Group 4 Expertise Must have twelve (12) years minimum Army Aviation tactical experience. Must be a former rated Senior Army aviator and/or Senior Army UAS operator or maintainer. Must have a combination of experience adding up to at least five (5) years of either conducting Army UAS capabilities development within a Requirements Management office as described in the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (e.g. A-CDD or CDD) or operational experience in tactical Army aviation formations executing Army UAS operations where they managed flight operations, flight or maintenance scheduling, and mission execution. Must be capable of independent work based on broad senior level guidance to produce completed white papers, concept papers, requirements documents, operational views, and other written products as required within the scope of the task order. Products must be written at the graduate level with a maximum of three revisions prior to presenting to the Government. DOTmLPP Solutions Assessment, UAS Cost-Benefits Analysis, UAS Modeling, Simulation Experimentation, and UAS Concept of Operations experience is desired.
