Job Description

Applicant must have the ability to read, understand, and execute the work per the Plans and Specifications of the project and according to Utility Construction Industry Standards. Must be able to plan, coordinate, and safely supervise an experienced crew installing underground piping for commercial and municipal water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems. Must have experience with operating and overseeing heavy equipment operation (excavators, wheel loaders, rollers), as well as utilizing pipe laser and transit for establishing grades. This position involves manual labor tasks as well as paperwork, daily report processing, and a comprehensive understanding of safe practices in the industry. This candidate will have significant safety training and will carry OSHA certifications as well as Competent Person, Trenching and Excavation Safety, Confined Space, and Flagger Certifications. This position is for a "working" foreman and will require oversight and weekly task planning for a 5-6 man team installing pipe on commercial and municipal sites across 7 counties in the Piedmont, NC region. Foreman is expected to provide oversight for subcontractors as necessary. Applicant must have a valid NC drivers license. All applicants will be required to submit to drug screening and Motor Vehicle Record Check prior to being hired.
Responsibilities include:
Ready to begin work on jobsite by 7:00 am Safe operation of equipment, crew, jobsite. Monitor fluids, filters and gauges on the equipment and maintain proper levels of all fluids, clean filters. Daily greasing of equipment. Must be able to carry grades for trench excavation or backfill. Materials handling and assembly of shoring systems. Operators are required to participate in manual labor tasks as required on project.
Minimum Experience Required:
Verifiable Safety Training. Verifiable experience operating a 10ton Track Excavator or 10ton Wheel Loader. Experience with assembling and installing shoring systems. Experience with trench excavation and backfill. 3 years minimum experience as a crew supervisor on pipe projects over $1 million. No applicant will be considered without this experience. ' '
