We are a small family-owned business that has been around since the 1830's, handcrafting high quality solid wood furniture. We are looking to hire chair seaters. If you live near Madison, Virginia and know how to do this fine craft, or would like to learn, we would love to talk to you! As a chair seater, you must be able to seat chairs according to need. Our craftsmen will deliver chairs to you, where you will be able to work on these chairs independently from home. We will provide you with on-site training where you will be able to shadow a chair seater until you are comfortable working independently from home. Fiber rush seats, signature features of Clore chairs, are constructed locally of tightly twisted kraft paper cording. Originating over one hundred years ago, fiber rush was developed as an alternative to imported rattan reed, and weaving fiber rush seats has become a cherished craft. Our rush seats are lacquered for greater strength and durability. You must be able to work well independently, follow safety rules and care about the details. Expected qualities include an excellent work ethic, problem solving skills, a positive attitude and good communication skills.
