Job Description:
The Atlantic Group has partnered with an investment firm in the Greenwich, CT area. They have an immediate need for a Valuation Associate to join their team. This position is a full-time contract role that's estimated to be around 4 months in length.
Summary :
Ideally searching for someone with 7-10 years of experience who brings a forward-thinking approach, especially when it comes to technical solutions and the utilization of AI.
Responsibilities include:
  • Utilize market data and information from internal and external sources to value private debt investments such as loans to credit funds, business development companies, private companies, and other private investments.
  • Conduct various control procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, reasonableness, and independence of valuation methods and the overall valuation process
  • Preparation of comprehensive valuation reports, presentations, and memos for the valuation committee ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with reporting standards
  • Partner with the development team to build out and improve daily processes and internal systems
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market dynamics, regulatory changes, and valuation best practices, incorporating relevant insights into the valuation process and investment strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external valuation vendors and internal stakeholders, including senior management and investment professionals
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the valuation process, leveraging technology, automation, and innovative methodologies to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years of experience in valuation, private credit, investment management, or a related financial services environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong experience valuing private debt investments, including loans, credit funds, BDCs, and other illiquid/private investments
  • Solid understanding of valuation methodologies, market data analysis, and financial modeling techniques
  • Experience preparing valuation reports, committee materials, and supporting documentation for senior leadership and auditors
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and deliver clear, actionable insights
  • Strong technical aptitude with an interest in leveraging technology, automation, and AI-driven solutions to improve processes and workflows
