Summary As a Van Driver at Albertville Nursing Home, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to and from appointments and activities. This role is vital in ensuring our residents receive the care and support they need while maintaining their independence. When not driving, you will be responsible for being the helping hand to the Environmental Department. Responsibilities Safely operate the van to transport residents to medical appointments, recreational activities, and other destinations as needed. Assist residents with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety. Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules and resident attendance. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met. Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and attentive to residents' needs during transportation. Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding any concerns or special requirements for residents during transport. Be willing to lend a helping a hand to the Environmental department. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Experience in paratransit or similar transportation roles preferred. Strong customer service skills to interact positively with residents and their families. Ability to assist individuals with mobility challenges safely. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols is a plus. Compassionate attitude towards elderly care and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
