Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians and specialists, providing essential support in a fast-paced, compassionate environment. Your role will be vital in delivering high-quality veterinary services, ensuring animal comfort, and maintaining clinic operations with enthusiasm and professionalism. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and animal restraint Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas Handle animal restraint safely and effectively for procedures such as blood draws, catheterizations, and X-rays Support laboratory work by collecting samples, preparing slides, and conducting basic tests to aid diagnosis Maintain accurate records of patient histories, treatments, medications, and laboratory results using veterinary terminology and record-keeping systems Administer pet care instructions to clients and educate pet owners on animal health, nutrition, and grooming best practices Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting oral care routines Skills Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary critical care procedures Experience with laboratory techniques including sample collection and analysis Familiarity with equine handling or dog training is a plus for diverse animal care needs Skilled in animal restraint techniques for safe handling during examinations or treatments Proficiency in X-ray operation and aseptic techniques to ensure accurate diagnostics while maintaining infection control standards Ability to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners using clear veterinary language This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to expand their veterinary experience while providing compassionate care.
