Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become an essential part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and client communication. Your dedication will help ensure our furry, patients receive compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, sample collection, and laboratory tasks Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques within treatment areas to prevent infection Help with animal husbandry, including feeding, bathing, grooming, and general care of hospitalized animals Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and processing patient records Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures by setting up equipment and ensuring proper positioning Contribute to pet care by monitoring vital signs, providing comfort, and observing behavioral changes Assist with specialized procedures such as animal catheterization or injections for both small animals Support laboratory work including sample collection, processing, and record keeping for diagnostic testing Handle dog handling duties and kennel duties Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience in veterinary clinics is highly valued Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology Experience with pet care routines including medication administration and animal restraint techniques Familiarity with laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and basic veterinary equipment Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively Equine experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare and compassionate care Embark on a rewarding career where your enthusiasm for animals meets professional growth!
