Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor- French & Francophone

The French and Francophone Department invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in French and Francophone language, literature, and culture. Specialization is open, with a preference for expertise in sub-Saharan African studies and in nineteenth-century studies. The teaching load of six courses per year includes language courses at all levels, and can include intermediate and advanced literature courses. Native or near-native fluency in French is required. Minimum qualification is an M.A., but a Ph.D. is preferred. We value the contributions visitors bring to our community and encourage their active engagement with their departments and all aspects of campus life during the course of their appointment. Visiting faculty are appointed as participating members of the faculty, but they may become voting members by request. Their presence is welcome at all faculty meetings.
