Position Summary:

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, planning, coordinating and directing the volunteer program at Guardian Angels. This position provides orientation to new volunteers, schedules work hours, and maintains a record of volunteer hours worked. Coordinates volunteer appreciation, participates in functional work groups and collaborates with other team members to produce the best outcomes. Supports and implements all safety practices and ensures a positive and meaningful volunteer experience while aligning volunteer efforts with Guardian Angels needs and program goals. Supports and implements all safety practices. Services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels.

Job Duties:

Plan, coordinate, recruit, promote and direct the Guardian Angels volunteer program, companywide. Continuously develop new avenues to recruit volunteers. Ensure compliance of new volunteers, provide orientation, schedule work hours and keeps record of all volunteer hours worked. Coordinates volunteers needed with the Life Enrichment Coordinators and Life Enrichment Director. Attends marketing and activities functional work groups and collaborates with other team members to produce the best outcomes. Collaborates with community partners, such as RSVP & Volunteer Bridge to meet volunteer needs at Guardian Angels. Serves as a liaison between Friends of Guardian Angels, Care Center, and Care Center Staff. Assists with the transportation of volunteers as needed by driving a Guardian Angels vehicle. Track, record, and report volunteer data, including hours and impact metrics. Coordinates volunteer appreciation activities, events, and communications for all volunteers. To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents. Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities. All duties will be performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations. Uphold confidential information as required by Guardian Angels policy and procedure and as related to HIPAA. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Guardian Angels. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Secondary education in related field is preferred. Two years prior experience with a Volunteer Program preferred and/or programs for the senior population. Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft 365. Experience within Volgistics preferred. Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and ability to motivate others. Available to work flexible hours which may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Excellent verbal and written (read, write) communication skills. Self-motivated, ability to prioritize. Maintains good attendance and punctuality. Must be able to drive to all GA locations, work in variety of buildings. Occasional evenings/weekends required.
