Warehouse Associate

Position Summary:

Completes material requests orders for various construction projects. Loads trucks per geographic area in a safe and efficient manor in order to minimize costs. Responsibilities include but not limited to, storing materials, picking/packing orders, and loading/unloading trucks. Must be able to lift upwards of 15 lbs. and operate a forklift.

Essential Functions:

Prepares orders by processing requests; pulling materials; packing boxes; loading and unloading of trucks. Stocks material inventory when items are depleted. Collects delivered merchandise from vendors and suppliers. Maintains inventory controls by performing cycle counts. Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards. Assists with internal and external building maintenance. Ensures excellent communication between all departments throughout the warehouse facilities. Promotes excellent morale throughout all departments and divisions. Enforces and abides by all policies and procedures. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Organizational skills in order to coordinate tasks pertaining to the warehouse. Ability to oversee projects. Sufficient knowledge of mathematics including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to schedule and prioritize all work assignments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals. Ability to enforce and abide by all Tomko rules and procedures. Excellent knowledge of plumbing/HVAC material.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment:

This position works in a typical warehouse environment. Pleasant and safe working atmosphere and conditions, which at times may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort:

Light physical effort, requires handling of average-weight objects in excess of 15 pounds and some standing and walking.

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
