QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or G.E.D. and experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, delivery services, or a related field. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a district delivery vehicle. Must meet all district and state requirements for school nutrition personnel as applicable. Perform physically demanding work including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects (frequently up to 50 pounds or more with assistance as needed); stand and walk for extended periods; work in warehouse, freezer, and cooler environments with varying temperatures; operate delivery vehicles and equipment; exposure to outdoor weather conditions during loading and deliveries.

JOB GOAL:
Perform a variety of specialized duties related to the receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of food, commodities, and supplies for the district's food service program; ensure accurate inventory control, timely delivery to school sites, and proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and storage areas. Responsible for the centralized management and distribution of all food service inventory and commodities. Incumbents work independently to coordinate ordering, receiving, storage, and delivery functions, and maintain accurate inventory records across multiple sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming commodities and food service deliveries from multiple sources; ensure accuracy and report discrepancies as needed. Independently perform all ordering and inventory management functions, maintaining appropriate stock levels to support district operations. Stock and organize all inventory in warehouse, freezer, and cooler areas according to established procedures and food safety standards. Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records; perform daily inventory balancing and reconciliation. Prepare and distribute weekly inventory reports to school kitchen managers. Receive and process orders from school sites; coordinate and schedule deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment. Prepare and issue internal delivery documentation for each school site to support inventory control and tracking. Load, transport, and deliver food and supplies to school sites; routinely handle and deliver large volumes of product. Complete inter-site transfers of products as needed; pick up and deliver items between schools to address shortages or surpluses. Communicate promptly and effectively with appropriate central office staff regarding vendor shortages, substitutions, and out-of-stock items to support uninterrupted operations. Monitor and document storage temperatures in warehouse, cooler, and freezer areas to ensure compliance with food safety standards; maintain proper stock rotation using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method and ensure all products are used within established 'use by' dates. Manage delivery receipt responsibilities to ensure all shipments are properly received and secured, including as needed. Operate and maintain the food service delivery vehicle; ensure all required maintenance, inspections, and repairs are completed in a timely manner. Respond promptly to requests from school food service managers and central office staff and provide direct operational support to meet kitchen and program needs. Provide guidance and support to site staff related to inventory procedures, ordering processes, and product handling to ensure consistency and adherence to program standards across locations. Perform related duties as assigned.
