Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Clifton Sanitation District is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join their team and are seeking a highly motivated and outgoing individual. This full-time position performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and non-skilled technical duties in the operation and maintenance of the District's 2.5 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant. Preferred candidates should have a Level A, B, C or D Wastewater certification, a minimum of two years' experience in water or wastewater treatment facility operations, plus a high school diploma (or equivalent), supplemented by college level courses in biology or related fields. Working knowledge of SCADA, plus computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred. Applicants must also possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain a Colorado CDL license within six months of hire. Any combination of experience, training, or education that provides the required knowledge and abilities is preferred but willing to train the right candidate. It is important to have good verbal and written communication skills and be a self-starter. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and physical. Overview:

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and processes
• Collect and analyze samples for process control
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Utilize logic controllers to monitor and adjust system processes
• Operate heavy equipment for various tasks related to wastewater treatment
• Conduct data collection and record-keeping activities
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues
• Perform heavy lifting as required for maintenance tasks
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations

Qualifications:

• Experience in wastewater treatment operations is preferred
• Ability to operate and maintain tanker trucks for waste transportation
• Proficiency in mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance
• Familiarity with logic controllers used in industrial processes
• Capability to plumb and conduct plumbing repairs as needed
• Skilled in heavy equipment operation for plant maintenance tasks
