Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator and play a vital role in maintaining clean water and environmental safety! In this energetic position, you will oversee the daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility, ensuring that all processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will help protect public health and preserve natural resources while working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply mechanical skills, operate heavy equipment, and utilize advanced control systems to keep our water treatment processes running at peak performance. Duties Conduct routine inspections of equipment, including pumps, valves, motors, and heavy machinery, performing necessary repairs or maintenance to prevent downtime. Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, flow rates, chemical levels, and system performance to ensure compliance with environmental standards. Manage heavy equipment operation such as tanker trucks for chemical delivery or sludge removal, ensuring safe handling and transportation. Perform basic math calculations for chemical dosing, flow adjustments, and process optimization to maintain optimal water treatment conditions. Troubleshoot plumbing issues or mechanical failures promptly to minimize disruptions in treatment operations. Assist with construction projects or upgrades within the plant to improve system capacity or efficiency while adhering to safety protocols. Engage in regular maintenance activities including cleaning filters, calibrating sensors, and replacing worn parts to sustain equipment reliability. Document operational activities accurately through logs and reports for regulatory compliance and internal review. Qualifications Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, plumbing, or heavy machinery operation. Strong analysis skills for interpreting data related to wastewater treatment processes and water quality metrics. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with plant maintenance or construction projects. Basic math skills for chemical calculations and process adjustments essential for effective water treatment management. Prior experience working with wastewater treatment systems or water treatment plants is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation, construction activities, and hazardous materials handling is a plus.
