Job Description

Twenty Mile House, a 200-acre beautiful destination wedding venue with a spark of history and boutique elegance located in Cromberg, California is seeking hardworking, reliable individuals to join their team. Twenty Mile House is tucked away in the Sierra Nevada forest among creeks, towering trees and evergreen ambiance near Quincy and Portola. GENERAL SUMMARY
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the orchestration of ceremony and reception events. The goal is to assist in providing an outstanding wedding experience for our wedding couples and their guests and ensure that the wedding party's vision comes together seamlessly on the wedding day.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Service:
Directs & assists the service team with all events following planning worksheets, timelines, and checklists. Oversee and assist with all aspects of event service during the ceremony and reception as required including but not limited to guest management, bussing, drink stations, trash, lighting, heaters, restrooms, fire pits, bar management, wine service, parking, boxing linen, etc. as required. Assist wedding coordinator, vendors and other divisions with the setting up of additional equipment, food/beverages, etc Ensure all decorations are separated and properly stored at the end of the event (TMH decor & couples decor). Ensure all checklists & shift reports are completed and correctly documented in Google Drive. Performs tasks to prepare for future events if required including but not limited to: preparing linens, ironing napkins, preparing and polishing glassware, dishes and silverware, preparing other required items. Problem solves and takes the initiative to come up with solutions for any concerns that happen during the event. Complete checklists & shift reports at the close of every shift in Google Drive.
Grounds & Facilities:
Ensure grounds are at the highest level of excellence at all times. Oversee and assist with final walkthrough of the reception area prior to the event start. Oversee and assist with End of Event and Closing Procedures including clean up & locking of General Store, starting laundry, etc. Clean the reception areas & General Store for next day events. Notify General Manager or Facilities Manager of any maintenance issues, document as requested. Maintain equipment storage areas as organized and in excellent condition. General stores, grounds, and facilities are kept tidy and free of any hazards at all times.
Staff Management:
Supervise & manage all service staff. Be a positive role model for all TMH staff. Lead team meeting prior to service, delegate tasks, assign meal breaks. Assign tasks and jobs to service staff using TMH service checklists. Oversee, document and manage performance issues with service staff seeking assistance from General Manager if required.
Employee Onboarding Checklist & Safety Training Checklist:
Train Employees following Initial Employee Onboarding Checklist Training. Collaborate with HR Manager for continued employee training throughout the season. Food Handler, CPR, First Aid, TIPS/RBS certified (TMH to provide training). Follow all safety & training procedures and guidelines to ensure safety for self & others. Ensure all service staff follows safety and training guidelines and procedures.
Manager Collaboration:
Work closely with and assist the wedding coordinator where needed during event service. Discuss issues and concerns as they arise. Participate in bi-weekly manager meetings to discuss prior & upcoming events. Work with General Manager on performance reviews. Communicate with Setup Manager any feedback or ideas to improve systems.
Guest Management:
Point of contact for wedding couple after Wedding Coordinator departs. Respond and manage any guest questions or concerns. Be guest-focused curating a memorable experience.
General Responsibilities:
Report any concerns for the facilities, ground or setup to the wedding coordinator. Updating event documents (checklists, inventory, ensuring staff communication folder is up to date) as needed. Team player and willingness to cross cover other jobs at Twenty Mile House when necessary. Perform additional tasks as requested.

Excellent organizational skills. Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership skills. Able to lead and supervise others in a positive and supportive manner. Ability to work together as a collaborative team, flexibility in a dynamic work environment. Energetic, positive, "can do" attitude, great work ethic. Commitment to professionalism, work culture & company standards. Ability to complete tasks in a timely and effective manner, attention to detail. Ability to remain calm, problem-solve, solution-oriented. TIPS certified preferred, Twenty Mile House will provide the training to the right candidate if needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is at an outdoor venue in a wooded environment with potential changing weather conditions. Will also use the indoor General Store & back of house areas throughout shift. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
HOURS :
Part-time to Full time will vary depending on the event schedule. Seasonal April through Mid-November. Typical hours are anywhere from 3pm-1am, including all Saturdays and most Sundays and mid-week weddings. Additional hours/workdays may be available.
