Weekend Farm Hand

The Weekend Farm Hand supports essential livestock, greenhouse, and farm operations during weekend hours. This role ensures continuity of care for animals and plants, maintains production standards, and supports overall farm readiness for both operations and guest-facing experiences. This is a hands-on, outdoor position requiring reliability, attention to detail, and comfort working independently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Livestock Operations

• Feed and care for livestock (poultry, sheep, cattle, pigs, and guardian dogs)
• Collect, count, sort, and package eggs
• Move livestock and mobile infrastructure (poultry, sheep, and cattle)
• Care for young animals, including chick brooders and lambs, as needed
• Observe animal health and promptly report any concerns
• Support animal care needs during weekend hospitality programming Greenhouse & Crop Operations
• Feed fish and monitor aquaculture systems
• Inspect and maintain culinary greenhouse vegetable production
• Water and care for plants across multiple growing areas, including:
• Germination room
• Greenhouse beds and nursery
• Market garden
• Monitor and adjust greenhouse climate controls
• Check and record walk-in cooler temperatures General Farm Support
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of farm vehicles and equipment
• Support overall farm operations as needed to ensure efficiency and safety
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and functional.
• Support other operational needs as instructed by management

Schedule & Availability:

• This is a part-time, weekend-only role requiring approximately 8 hours per week
• Must be available to work weekends consistently (Saturday and Sunday)
• Schedule may vary based on seasonal and operational needs
• Occasional flexibility may be required to support farm priorities and special events
• Potential for additional hours across various days of the week based on business needs

A Typical Day:

• Care for livestock and collect eggs to support daily farm operations
• Complete hands-on tasks such as moving animals and maintaining farm spaces
• Water plants and monitor greenhouse conditions to support crop production
• Utilize company-provided transportation for movement around the farm

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work required.
• Previous farm, livestock, or greenhouse experience preferred
• Familiarity with animal handling and basic plant care
• Experience working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable working with livestock and farm equipment
• Strong reliability and ability to follow established routines
• Attention to detail, particularly when monitoring and recording tasks
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
