Job Description

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Weekend Registered Nurse, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in patient care during critical weekend hours. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing services across diverse clinical settings. As a Weekend RN, you will be at the forefront of patient assessment, treatment, and education, ensuring optimal health outcomes while working in a supportive and energetic environment. Your dedication will help us deliver exceptional care when it's needed most, empowering patients and their families every step of the way. Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine immediate needs and ongoing care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management aligned with HIPAA regulations and best practices. Manage complex clinical procedures such as wound suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and ventilator care with aseptic technique to ensure safety and efficacy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient information clearly and comprehensively. Provide triage services for urgent health concerns, prioritizing cases based on severity while coordinating appropriate interventions or referrals. Assist with diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection/processing, laboratory testing, and interpreting results to support accurate diagnoses. Educate patients and families on health management strategies such as pain control, memory care techniques, or post-discharge instructions for conditions like Alzheimer's or dementia. Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration. Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, or long-term care facilities. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medical documentation standards. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; experience with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus. Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or trauma center exposure (Level I or Level II Trauma Center). Skilled in advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, sterile processing, and infection control protocols. Ability to work independently during weekend shifts while maintaining excellent patient care standards; compassionate attitude with a focus on geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatric care or hospice & palliative medicine is highly valued.
