Experienced Welders:

SUMMARY:

The Experienced Welder has experience with a variety of materials to fabricate new parts, equipment, construction elements and more. Will be responsible for skillful handling of many types of metal and numerous fabrication tools; working independently and with teams, in the recycling plants, on the rail, and more.

Experience:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), five or more years related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience required. Experience must be in construction, or industry atmosphere. Knowledge of industrial safety (OSHA and EPA regulations.)

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to read, write and interpret in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Valid Driver's License with good record required.

Physical Demands:

"Heavy": Exerting up to 40lbs of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Standing, walking, stooping and bending required often. Must be able to see, listen and respond to dangerous situations.

Work Environment:

Usually working outdoors with occasional work indoors or working in various weather conditions. Must Have Own Tools

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts repairs and preventive welding maintenance service; maintains production facilities and quality control by ensuring reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment; provides repairs of production equipment , plant facility scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Complies with OSHA safety/ health rules. Able to use equipment such as torches, gas powered welders, mig welding, flux core and a plasma cutter. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Perform daily preventive maintenance checks. Assist in the regular cleanup of the maintenance area. Wear proper safety equipment. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated manager.
