Job Description

Position Summary The Dual Rotary Driller is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a dual rotary drilling rig to construct water wells, monitor wells, and other boreholes in a variety of geological conditions. This role requires advanced knowledge of drilling methods, equipment maintenance, and jobsite safety, with a strong emphasis on productivity, accuracy, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain dual rotary drilling rigs and support equipment. Execute drilling operations including overburden casing advancement, air/mud rotary drilling, and casing installation. Ensure borehole alignment, depth accuracy, and proper casing placement. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on rig, compressors, pumps, and support equipment. Supervise and coordinate with driller's assistant Maintain accurate daily drilling logs, reports, and safety documentation. Adhere to all OSHA, state, and company safety regulations. Identify and troubleshoot downhole issues such as loss of circulation, stuck tooling, or formation instability. Mobilize and demobilize drilling equipment to and from job sites. Qualifications Experience operating dual rotary or similar drilling rigs. Strong understanding of drilling techniques in unconsolidated and consolidated formations. Experience with air rotary, mud rotary, and casing advancement systems. Ability to read and interpret well designs, blueprints, and technical specifications. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred). Preferred Skills Experience in water well, geothermal, or environmental drilling. Welding and fabrication experience. Experience operating support equipment (telehandlers, loaders, forklifts). Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50-100 lbs regularly. Capable of working in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, dust). Ability to stand, climb, bend, and work long hours in the field. Work Environment Outdoor construction and drilling sites. Remote locations with extended hours and potential travel. Exposure to noise, vibration, heavy equipment, and drilling fluids. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage (DOE). Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
