Introduction The Department of Health Services (DHS), Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Care Supervisor (PCS). This position is primarily assigned to work 2nd shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm) Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position will be scheduled to work approximately 11 weekends a year. Position Summary As the PCS, you will be responsible for providing leadership to Psychiatric Care Technicians-Advanced and other staff and will manage the operations, safety and security of the facility, units, and areas. This position is critical in creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all cultural backgrounds and all aspects of diversity and promoting wellness for all staff and residents.

Responsibilities include:

Developing, implementing, and applying resident treatment plans, policies, and practices within the facility. Identifying and addressing security issues, and planning interventions that are consistent with the treatment needs identified in the Treatment Learning Plan, unit and institution mission statement. Ensuring the maintenance of a safe, secure environment. Assuming a leadership role in crisis situations ensuring that staff, resident health, and safety and security needs are met. Scheduling staff members, receiving incoming sick calls, and coordinating institution coverage as necessary. Salary Information The starting pay is between $47.68 and $51.36 per hour (approximately between $99,100 and $106,800 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Hours worked between 6:00pm to 6:00am will receive an $0.80 add-on per hour and employees who work weekend hours will receive an $0.80 add-on per hour for hours worked. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees is based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 81/33. Job Details All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility within 30 days of the start date. This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 50lbs, pushing and pulling carts, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, stooping, standing, sitting and working on feet for extended periods of time. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
