The location in Ashdown, (Arkansas, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Woodyard Assistant Superintendent . This job is full-time permanent.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Woodyard Superintendent, and its primary functions are to: Provide support to the woodyard operations key areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Have direct responsibility for morning reports, safety meetings, coordination of maintenance, lockouts, chip inventory and pile management, operational plans, quality checks, payroll, and day-to-day operations. Perform Weekend Duty on a routine basis and nightly call during the week.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Bachelor's degree of Engineering preferred, if no degree must have successfully passed the TABE, CRC or Nowlin exam. Five years of job-related experience in woodyard operations or the equivalent (in a supervisory role). The candidate must also possess complete knowledge of the pulp manufacturing process and have the ability to effectively manage personnel.
SKILLS:
Candidates must possess and have demonstrated: The ability to set high goals or standards of performance for self and others. An advanced level of knowledge is needed in safety, pulping operations, maintenance planning, scheduling, quality assurance and continuous improvement. A solid working knowledge of engineering, maintenance and production planning, budget administration and preparation. This job requires good troubleshooting, organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Technical writing skills are also needed.

: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, maintain a well-organized approach to work, and work with a group as a team member with the capacity to lead by example.
