Job Description

Profile:
The Worship Arts Director is called to lead people to Christ and to live out the greatness of God through worship in everyday life. As chief worshipper, the Worship Arts Director provides leadership and direction for all venues by integrating music, media, and the arts to develop hearts for Jesus and call the Church to reach the community and the world with the Gospel.
Reports to:
Lead Pastor Works with: Executive Pastor, Ministry Team, Creative Arts Director, Production Director, & Tech Director Worship Arts Director possesses Deep love for Jesus Christ and people from all walks and backgrounds. A heart for those who are far from God and searching for their spiritual significance in Him. A teachable mindset; always seeking to develop personally and professionally. Passion for music, the role it plays in worship and for instilling worship as a 24/7 pursuit. Leadership abilities that thrive in a team-based environment. Visionary abilities; able to rally a team toward a common goal. Ability to balance reverence of the past and present while embracing relevance for today. Thorough knowledge of expressions of today and a vision for the songs and musicians of tomorrow. An ability to create a transcendent atmosphere and journey that is comfortable to the unchurched. Technical skills in using music, video, media, and the arts across multiple venues. Desire to network with artist and creative people at large for development and contextual relevance. Ability to recruit and engage volunteer artists, musicians, and vocalists; invest in their lives, and develop them for ministry. A heart to develop musicians and network with leaders to continually mature and expand the influence of the ministry and that of the team. Core Responsibilities Lead Worship Teams in the planning, production, and execution of all weekend worship experience elements. Partner with Creative Arts Director and/or Communications Director to brainstorm creative arts components for use in weekend worship experience. Provide musical arrangements and tracks for weekend worship. Continually develop and oversee all weekend worship experience teams. Recruit, develop and schedule volunteers as needed across the ministry. Collaborate with Creative Arts Director and Communications Director to develop creative and storytelling projects from concept to final product. Develop and oversee an annual ministry plan and budget for the Worship Arts Ministry. Identify, mentor, and empower emerging worship leaders, vocalist, musicians, and media techs. Coordinate and oversee additional creative arts activities as needed for church wide events & services. Recruit and empower volunteers to serve in their gifting, such as music, production, staging and video. Assist and provide support to additional sacerdotal services as assigned (weddings, funerals, communion, baptisms). Design and implement effective strategies for community awareness of Northeast in our community, Qualifications A mature believer with a clear understanding of the Gospel and the ability to clearly communicate it. Deep commitment to spiritual integrity, moral purity, and healthy relationships. High level of musical proficiency with passion for contemporary worship with artistic excellence. Minimum of three years experience in leading contemporary corporate worship. A history of impactful leadership in leading worship and developing teams. Proficiency in multiple instruments with an ability to read and write musical arrangements. Working knowledge and technical aptitude in areas of lighting, sound, presentation software, etc. with an eagerness to stay current in these areas and assist in the training and development of others. A working knowledge of the Nashville Number System. Self-aware with a coachable spirit, responsive attitude and always seeking to self-develop. Minimum of two years experience in leading paid staff and teams. Able to create and sustain a strong volunteer culture to include mentoring with wisdom and grace. Additional Responsibilities Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development times. Serve on our team with a passion for ministry and a desire for excellence. Serve as a resource and source of support of other ministries in need of worship strategies and equipping (children s, youth, etc.). Work closely with other areas of ministry, continually looking for ways to integrate music, media, and personnel to support needs as they arise. Positive, patient, friendly, professional attitude, and demeanor. Commitment to Northeast through regular attendance, participation in a LifeGroup and giving. Additional projects and responsibilities may be necessary as requested by the Lead Pastor and/or Executive Pastor. Job descriptions at Northeast are fluid - meaning this job description represents the minimum expectations when it comes to tasks and areas of ministry. The staff of Northeast work as a team and there are numerous other tasks that will require the participation of the person holding this position.
Note:
This role is an exempt position with responsibilities being fulfilled in 45-50 hours per week.
