5:00 pm CST, May 29, 2026 Department Utilities - Water and Sewer summary Perform a variety of maintenance and operational duties involving the sanitary sewer collection system. Operate sanitary sewer cleaning jet/vac combination truck and other heavy equipment as needed. Participate in work crew efforts for the drinking water distribution system when needed. Provide assistance for other water and sewer service functions as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Operate jet/vac combination truck to clean and maintain sanitary sewer collection system. Respond to and investigates sanitary sewer service calls. Record and maintain detailed maintenance information for sanitary sewer collection system. Report abnormal operating conditions to supervisor to schedule maintenance. Operate camera system to investigate sewer collection locations and problems. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school plus a minimum of two years of experience in operations and maintenance of a public drinking water system and a public sanitary sewer collection system preferred. special requirements Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, an appropriate, valid commercial driver's license within six (6) months of hire. Valid State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Grade III Water Operators License (when eligible). RESidency requirement Must reside within 30 minutes of duty station, per Google maps, within six months of date of hire.

HOURS 40

hours week, Monday - Friday. Subject to be called in at anytime for emergencies and maintenance operations.
