Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Counselor to support the development and well-being of young individuals within our residential program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, behavioral health, or related fields, with a passion for mentoring and empowering youth. As a Youth Counselor, you will play a vital role in guiding children and adolescents through personal challenges, fostering positive growth, and promoting healthy social interactions. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while working within a supportive team environment. Duties Provide individualized counseling and support to youth facing behavioral, emotional, or social challenges. Develop and implement engaging activities that promote social skills, self-esteem, and personal responsibility. Collaborate with families, educators, and community partners to create comprehensive care plans tailored to each youth's needs. Monitor progress and maintain detailed documentation of counseling sessions, interventions, and outcomes. Facilitate conflict management strategies to de-escalate tense situations and promote positive interactions among youth. Assist in planning and supervising recreational activities that encourage teamwork and healthy development. Support youth with special needs or disabilities by adapting approaches to meet their unique requirements. Promote a safe, inclusive environment that respects diversity and encourages open communication. Experience Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational, social work, or childcare settings. Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities. Background in behavioral health or child welfare services is highly desirable. Demonstrated skills in mentoring, conflict management, and teaching effective communication techniques. Familiarity with social work principles and child development theories. Experience supporting youth with diverse backgrounds and needs is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Pay:
$15.00 - $19.00 per hour
