Job Title Youth Enrichment Counselor General Description The Youth Enrichment Counselor must be a warm, sensitive, and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults and is willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with educational and developmentally appropriate philosophy. Essential Duties
  • Plans, supervises, and implements the daily program for assigned group under the direction of the Program Coordinator
  • Maintains the ordered arrangement, appearance, and learning environment of their assigned space
  • Assists in the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children
  • Helps to gear the program to meet the individual children's needs with concern for their interests, challenges, special talents and individual style
  • Treats children with dignity and respect
  • Provides a positive role model for children to learn
  • Act in a professional manner at all times
  • Follow all requirements set by the Child Care Regulations, the Program Coordinator, and the YWCA.
  • Address parental concerns if the Coordinator is unavailable and bring those concerns to the Coordinator as soon as possible
  • Attends scheduled staff supervision meetings, and special events as assigned.
  • Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned by the Coordinator
  • Complete a minimum of 20 hours per year of recommended training programs conducted by professionals in the field; professional conferences; courses at an approved institution of higher education; or similar activities such as classroom observation, reading relevant books and articles, etc. Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Must be eighteen years old with High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Experience working with children preferred but not required Position Hours and Location Option of shifts (morning, afternoon, or both) M
  • F 7:00
  • 9:00am (before school) M
  • F 2:30
  • 5:30pm during the school year (after school) additional shifts available during summer and school breaks 514 Blackstone Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895 Pay Rate and Employment Status $17.
