DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Works under the general supervision of the After School Program Coordinator and assists in directing educational, recreational and various enrichment activities for the students in Kindergarten-8th grade at Seeley Elementary. Also, performs a wide variety of social, recreational and community activities for child enrichment. Essential Duties (may include, but not limited to the following): 1. Carry out the site's planned program of activities designed to help develop and strengthen student's academic success and social and emotional development. 2. Maintain appropriate climate to establish and reinforce acceptable student behavior, attitudes, and social skills. 3. Instruct students in a safe and proper use of supplies and equipment. 4. Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facility and equipment. 5. Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings and on-going training opportunities. 6. Provide quality learning intervention skills that promote reading fluency and math growth. 7. Lead group activities (such as games, songs, arts & crafts, dance, theater) and direct the work of programs impacting recreation, social and cultural activities. 8. Supervise students. 9. Accompany participant groups at special events or on program outings. 10. Establish and maintain effective working relations with program and school personnel. 11. Lift/carry/push or pull equipment, supplies and other materials that are at least 50 pounds 12. Stand, walk, sit, bend, push, pull and reach on a frequent basis 13. Knowledge is required to perform basic math including fractions, percents, and decimals; to read a variety of manuals; write documents following prescribed formats and/or present information before groups; and understand complex multiple step instructions. 14. Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Equivalent to graduation from high school, 2. Must posses an Associate's degree or higher 2. Good command of basic English and math skills. 3. Able to work until 6pm during school year
Salary and Benefits:
ASES After-School Academic/Enrichment Educators are not eligible for Health Insurance or other Fringe Benefits. $13.00 per hour Work days/year: ASES After-School Academic/Enrichment Educators are employed for up to one school year. Service as a Temporary ASES After-School Academic/Enrichment Educator shall not be included in computing the service required to become a permanent employee of the District. • This is a grant funded position subject to ongoing funding.
