Job Description
Pay:
$66 - $73 per hour Position Summary The School Psychologist supports students' academic achievement, social-emotional development, and behavioral well-being through assessment, consultation, and intervention services. The School Psychologist collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive learning environments and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities Assessment & Evaluation Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations using standardized assessments, observations, and data analysis. Determine eligibility for special education services under IDEA and applicable state regulations. Prepare detailed written evaluation reports and present findings at eligibility and IEP meetings. Participate in reevaluations and review of existing data as required. Intervention & Student Support Provide individual and group counseling services to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Develop and support implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Assist in crisis intervention and provide risk assessments when necessary. Support the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks. Consultation & Collaboration Collaborate with teachers, administrators, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success. Provide consultation on instructional strategies, classroom management, and behavioral supports. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and recommendations. Participate as an active member of IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary teams. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and other applicable laws. Adhere to ethical standards established by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and/or state licensing boards. Qualifications Master's or Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in School Psychology (Doctoral degree preferred). Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist. Experience working with school-aged children preferred. Strong knowledge of psychoeducational assessment tools and data interpretation. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout school buildings. Ability to respond to crisis situations, including de-escalation and safety procedures when required. Work Environment School-based setting serving students across various grade levels and disability categories. May support multiple school sites within the district. #INDEDU1
