Description:
WILL NEED TO GO ONSITE TO SF, LIVERMORE, SAN RAMON, OAKLAND OR DALY CITY AS PROJECT NEEDS. ASSIGNMENT IS HYBRID AND MAY NEED TO GO ONSITE 2-3 TIMES A WEEK TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS. TOP THINGS LOOKING FOR
1) Experience with Technical Training (Instructor Led, not E learning) 2) Proficiency with MS Office tools (PPT, 3) Experience with creating job aids and technical writing skills

Title:
Instructional Designer, Contract Responsibilities
  • Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the utilities industry.
  • Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training.
  • Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media.
  • Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content.
  • Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment.
  • Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
  • Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience.
  • Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train the trainer.
  • Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
  • Receive and incorporate feedback.
  • Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables.
  • Proactively communicate issues and risks. Required Skills
  • 3+ years' experience developing instructor-led training and on-the-job tasks for technical skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design and methodologies.
  • Proven experience performing task analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines, as needed. Desired Skills
  • Experience developing multi-year technical training programs for adult learners.
  • Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Storyline.
  • Academy experience a plus. Location
  • Must be located in the territory.
  • Monthly to quarterly travel is required to locations.
  • Occasional overnight stays may be necessary to support client meetings and project milestones. Key Competencies
