Valid Kentucky Elementary Teaching Certificate or Valid Special Education Certification. 3 years of experience preferred.Reports to:
Director of Instruction & Superintendent Job Goals:
Improve student performance by assessing skills and needs (both initially and ongoing) of students within an elementary school setting for the purpose of determining intervention strategies needed to improve student achievement and gains in reading, writing, and mathematics rDuties and Responsibilities:
Provide educational interventions and progress monitoring for students who need support in reading, writing and math. Assist classroom teachers and other instructional staff in developing strategies, skills, tools, techniques, and capacity to effectively teach all students. Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties. Implement the MTSS model of increasingly intense student interventions and monitor student progress according to prescribed procedures. Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions. Provide the high-quality instruction time needed to move students to grade-level proficiency in Reading, Math, and Writing. Report school-wide progress monitoring/intervention data monthly to the building-level principal, instructional supervisor, and superintendent. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of the MTSS Model and how to implement, monitor, and evaluate individual student progress. Knowledge of using a universal screener to drive instructional practices. Ability to apply increasing levels of targeted support for students below grade-level standards. Ability to design integrated plans that address students' academic, behavioral, social and emotional needs. Knowledge of evidence-based strategies. Ability to implement a school-wide approach to student support that utilizes teachers, counselors, psychologists, and other specialists to address student needs.Salary Schedule:
