OVERVIEW
The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and strengthening client relationships by consistently offering an elevated experience. This philosophy has proven to attract both new business as well as foster strong ongoing client partnerships. Account Managers are responsible for organizing and quoting inquiries, briefing internal/external teams once the project is won, and overseeing the overall success of assigned active projects with the greater PM, shop, and leadership teams. The ideal candidate should have a broad knowledge of fabrication techniques & pricing specific to experiential events, retail build-outs, immersive environments, staging, as well as fixtures and furniture. They should possess experience with complex custom builds in addition to managing labor schedules and budgets for temporary and permanent installations. They should also be a self-starter, work well in fast-paced collaborative environments, extremely well organized, and very comfortable engaging with clients. A knowledge of applicable materials and professional correspondence is absolutely essential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain & grow client relationships through effective management while providing excellent communication and service to our clients. Independently build and prepare estimates for both internal review and external send. Responsible for quoting projects from inquiry to completion. Including outreach to outside vendors for current material pricing and specialty pricing as necessary. Participate and lead introductory and ongoing client meetings to review projects and project progress. Take notes as necessary on all client calls. Able to anticipate client needs and/or potential project hurdles, and having the ability to proactively provide fabrication, print, technical design, and logistical solutions. Maintain proper communication channels with clients as well as internal departments revolving in/around multiple projects at one time. Attend and lead site visits and document detailed notes/photos of the venue/delivery site. Extract, compile, and organize all preliminary documents and information pertaining to an event or project, ensuring handoff to Project Manager is thorough and accurate. Organize and support or run pre-production/kickoff meetings. Source and acquire project related materials - including samples and proofs. Assist project management team and accounting department with project's budget including labor and expenses billed against a project. Monitor production schedule and review progress with the Project Management Department. Ensure quality control and monitor timelines to satisfy client expectations within budget. Establish an on-site presence to assist both The Lab's Project Managers as well as establish rapport and support Clients. Assist Project Management Department with project loadouts, as well as on-site installs and strikes. Lead and/or participate in project wrap meetings. Maintain discipline to procedures, in accordance with safety, quality, engineering, human resources, and finance department guidelines
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Organize estimates and materials per standard protocols. Prepare ancillary reports as necessary. Participate in outreach to potential new clients. Ensure all productivity goals are met on time and within budget. Enforce all company policies and procedures. Support company culture and initiatives. Able to train and coach staff on a regular basis. Willing to travel with advanced or short notice. Willing to work nights and weekends, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or budget management in relevant industry. Extensive material knowledge of material specific to this industry. Proficient in reading blueprints and shop drawings. Familiarity with the event and fabrication industry vocabulary. Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques, technical designs, and building materials. Able to provide written reports as well as deliver & accept direct feedback. Organized, detail-oriented and team driven. Flexible and adaptable to constant change. Working knowledge with Google suite of products. Including sheets, email, chat/spaces, and slides. Working knowledge with Sketchup, Adobe Illustrator, or relative CAD software is a plus.
