Job Description

Temporary Reimbursement and Accounting Specialist Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized temporary staff member to manage employee reimbursements and travel expenses, review daily financial transactions, reconcile general ledger accounts, and support month-end closing. This role involves a variety of administrative and accounting tasks requiring accuracy, compliance with internal policies, and adherence to accounting standards. Responsibilities Review and process employee reimbursement and travel expense claims, ensuring compliance with internal policies. Verify and reconcile receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation for accuracy. Maintain accurate records of all transactions and assist with generating monthly or quarterly reports. Respond to employee inquiries regarding reimbursement and travel expenses, providing timely support. Conduct thorough reviews of daily transactions, ensuring proper backup documentation and accuracy. Post entries accurately and promptly into the accounting system. Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data, investigating and resolving discrepancies or errors. Collaborate with the accounting team to research and analyze various accounting issues and stay current with accounting principles and regulations. Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and accounting standards. Monitor changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance. Prepare periodic profit and loss (P&L) analyses, including monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports. Compare actual financial performance to business plans and provide insights on variances and trends. Assist in the preparation of financial audits and provide support for audit-related activities. Prepare relevant documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements. Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, amortization schedules, and other assigned accounts. Follow up to resolve open balances and ensure accurate and complete financial data. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Experience with accounting processes such as reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing. Familiarity with general ledger accounting and financial reporting. Ability to interpret and apply accounting principles, policies, and procedures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and documentation. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees and accounting teams. Proficiency with accounting software and standard office applications. Hands-on experience with reimbursement, travel expense, and transaction processing. Proven ability to perform reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closing activities. Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. Capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with accounting and audit teams.
