Accounting Assistant Department:
Accounting Reports to: Dairy Controller SUMMARY Prepares daily cash management activities including reports, prepares monthly reports and schedules related to banking activities, assists other accountants with Microsoft Great Plains matters and assists the Dairy Controller with other assigned duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Prepare daily cash flow requirements, company borrowings and electronic payments. Prepare daily cash management reports for senior management. Prepare monthly reports on cash flow, borrowings and other cash management reports. Provide assistance with Microsoft Great Plains usage and reporting to all NFO affiliates. Analyze monthly interim financial statements and prepare account reconciliations for the NFO Dairy company. Assist the annual audit for the NFO Members Dairy Custodial Account. Conduct other financial or accounting projects as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.QUALIFICATIONS

Able to handle multiple tasks and projects. Candidate should be able to work under pressure, independently, as well as with many different levels of management. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Great Plains accounting software.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Personal computer and related peripherals, telephone system, and standard office equipment. Minimum 40 hours expected per week during company operating hours. Some travel may be required.
