Job description Job Responsibilities Under general supervision, responsible for the review, verification, processing, and accounting for South Carolina Judicial Branch (SCJB) accounts payable transactions including employee travel reimbursements, purchase orders, direct pays, interpreter/vendor payments, and other recurring invoices. Processes accounts receivable clearings and makes bank deposits.

Reviews, audits, and processes accounts payable vouchers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations as well as SCJB policies and procedures. Confirms vendor information, charges, and applicable taxes are correct, and verifies that proper approvals, funding sources, account coding, and supporting documentation are in place before processing payments in the statewide financial system (SCEIS). Identifies and resolves discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and non-compliant expenses by coordinating with employees, supervisors, and vendors. Maintains organized fiscal records, files, and supporting documentation to support audits, reporting requirements, and records retention standards. Reviews accounts receivable deposits prepared by the Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy, proper calculation, and timely completion. Processes and submits deposits of checks, cash, and money orders to the bank, and accurately clears outstanding deposit transactions in SCEIS within required timeframes while adhering to SCJB policies and procedures. Assist with year-end accounts payable reporting requirements Performs other related accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor's degree with fifteen (15) semester hours in accounting-related course and work experience in accounting or an associate's degree with twelve (12) semester hours in accounting-related courses and two (2) years of work experience in accounting.

Must be proficient in Excel and Word. Must be proficient in Excel and Word. Experience working in South Carolina state government fiscal operations processing governmental accounts payable and receivable transactions. Working knowledge of SCEIS, South Carolina procurement procedures, and state travel regulations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing financial documents. Analytical skills to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with regulations. Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel (e.g., reconciliation and reporting). Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management skills. Abilities Ability to analyze and reconcile financial transactions and resolve issues. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Skill in data entry and maintaining detailed fiscal records. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive financial data.
