Job Description:
The Department of Academic Support & Access Programs at Farmingdale State College oversees multiple initiatives devoted to providing underrepresented students with the support, resources and opportunities needed to meet their academic and pre-professional goals. The department currently seeks an ACE Success Coach to support students in the Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) program. The ACE program at Farmingdale State College is an exciting initiative that provides holistic services for college students who have demonstrated financial need. The primary goal of the ACE program is to support students in earning a bachelor's degree on time. Following a highly successful program launch in Spring 2024, Farmingdale State College currently seeks a full-time ACE Success Coach to sustain and grow the program's impact. The ACE Success Coach is a member of an integrated team that provides individualized academic, career, and personal guidance to an assigned cohort of students as they progress through the ACE program. Reporting to the ACE Director, the Success Coach is responsible for implementing advisement services, supporting recruitment efforts, and facilitating special events. The ACE Success Coach makes key contributions to the continued growth and success of the ACE program at Farmingdale State College.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver comprehensive advisement and support services to an assigned group of students through degree completion. Review student academic progress and track student use of academic support services. Conduct regular outreach to faculty and other college staff as needed to support student success. Maintain accurate tracking data and detailed notes for each assigned student, identifying appropriate referrals and opportunity programs as needed. Support annual recruitment efforts for new students entering the ACE program. Organize and support periodic special events and programs for students, faculty and staff. Conduct or support delivery of student seminars on issues of importance to students. Performs other related duties as assigned. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends as needed. The college particularly welcomes candidates with knowledge, skills and abilities that include: Commitment to diversity and university initiatives supportive of diversity and inclusion. Interest in participating in student-centered service activities. Desire to apply expertise in promoting civic engagement with the College's many community partners.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, education, or a related field. Experience working with students in higher education or a similar setting. Familiarity with coordination and facilitation of group activities/workshops. Strong organization and public speaking skills. Ability to enter, monitor and interpret student data accurately.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field. Experience serving as an academic advisor or counselor in Higher Education. Experience working with underrepresented students in higher education or a similar setting. Strong understanding of the needs of first-year and transfer college students. Experience working well with faculty and administration. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, and aptitude to learn new systems as needed. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Bilingual preferred.

This is a full-time, temporary UUP position. For the first 10 working days, beginning Tuesday, May 12, 2026 , and ending Friday, May 22, 2026 , applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

SALARY:
