Job Description
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description As an Administrative Assistant 1, you would perform tasks which fall into four broad categories: communication, coordination, organization, and records maintenance. Within these categories, the Administrative Assistant 1 would perform a variety of tasks which enable managers and program staff to accomplish the mission of the agency.

Self-Direction Team:
- Assist with information/workflow with monitoring mailboxes for budget submissions and approvals.
- Be knowledgeable about the steps and process for self direction processes that will be supporting.
- Prepare and mail out budget approvals.
- Interface and respond to inquiries from stakeholders related to the information sessions.
- Assist with tracking the status of budget reviews through monitoring and data entry.
- Answer telephone and give information to callers, take messages and transfer calls to the appropriate person
- Sets up and manages paper and electronic filing systems.
- Maintains scheduling and event calendars. Schedules and confirms appointments for clients, customers, or supervisors.
- Composes, types, and distributes meeting notes, correspondence, and reports.
- Routes and distributes incoming/outgoing mail
- Assist with phone coverage for other Regional Office clerical support staff on a daily basis.
- Other duties as requested.

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service Eligible List for this title.70.1 TRANSFERQUALIFICATIONS
Be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.SALARY:
Hudson Valley DDSO- $51,695
- $62,447 (Amounts include Downstate adjustment ($4,000)). Capital District DDSO

- If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.
