Job Description for Manager, Pink House AM About Us The Pink House is an innovative and thriving community-based restaurant and food destination that is located in idyllic West Cornwall, CT, just steps from the Housatonic River and the town's iconic covered bridge. With 50 indoor seats (including bar seats) and a seasonal patio for 50 more, we serve inventive, delicious food grounded in the seasonal bounty of the region's farmers. Our main focus since opening in 2024 has been dinner and weekend brunch service. We recently expanded to offer a morning coffee service - including pastries and a few light breakfast items - branded "Pink House AM." We are currently open weekdays from 7:30 to noon and weekends starting at 8 AM. We have ambitions to grow Pink House AM further, adding a pantry shed that offers more counter service or grab-and-go lunch offerings plus beverages, snacks, breads, prepared foods and more. The Role Pink House AM is looking for a Manager, initially part-time (10 to 20 hours per week) who has a strong operational mindset, a deep desire to learn, and a commitment to serving customers with exceptional quality and care. The Manager must demonstrate strong entrepreneurial skills to help The Pink House grow. This role starts with a training period and offers the opportunity for expanded responsibility, potentially leading to a full-time position. Weekend availability required. Typical shift runs from 7 AM to 1 PM. The position will be trained by the current Manager of Pink House AM. Once operational tasks and responsibilities are transitioned, the current Manager will serve as Lead Barista. The Manager has three main areas of responsibility: Operations management — Day-to-day management of tasks including staffing and scheduling, coffee and supply ordering, inventory tracking, POS management, sales reporting, and cash handling. Growth & expansion — Plan and help drive the expansion of Pink House AM into a broader "pantry" business, featuring a curated selection of food and beverages made in-house and sourced from outside suppliers. Barista shifts — Cover barista shifts as needed, ensuring Pink House AM maintains the highest quality coffee and tea offerings and its reputation as a "third place" for the local community to work and gather. Previous barista experience is not required and can be trained. The position starts as part-time (up to 20 hours/week). Accordingly, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications: Qualifications Strong work ethic, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team Passion for helping to build a community-focused food ecosystem in West Cornwall Exceptional competence in handling complex logistical matters and strong problem-solving skills Familiarity with Excel and ability to use Excel to model basic business operations, expense tracking and financial estimates (working with the accounting team) Entrepreneurial mindset Barista or specialty coffee experience a plus Experience in the food industry a plus Compensation will be competitive and tailored to the candidate.
