File life insurance claims and preneed funeral policies accurately. Track insurance proceeds and outstanding receivables. Follow up on unpaid insurance claims and account balances. Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems. Enter and update records within funeral home management software. Greet families and visitors with compassion, professionalism, and respect. Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately. Assist funeral directors before, during, and after funeral services. Prepare memorial folders, funeral programs, prayer cards, and other printed materials. Assemble family care materials and memorial packets. Publish obituaries and service information online. Maintain confidentiality while providing exceptional customer service. Operate standard office equipment and perform general administrative duties. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or related administrative experience preferred. Previous administrative, customer service, office, insurance, or healthcare experience preferred. Funeral home experience is a plus but not required. Knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, or bookkeeping is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional telephone etiquette. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to quickly learn new software programs. Accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills. Compassionate, discreet, and able to maintain confidentiality. Dependable, self-motivated, and a team player. Pay:
$44,832.50 - $53,991.83 per year
