Laboratory Support Specialist / Administrative Coordinator Axial Diagnostics Alpharetta, GA Job Details Full-time $20 - $30 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Paid time off Qualifications Specimen collection / processing Administrative experience High school diploma or GED Driver's License Driving Data entry Full Job Description Overview We are a CLIA-certified and COLA-accredited clinical laboratory seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Specialist / Administrative Coordinator to support daily laboratory operations. This role combines laboratory support functions with administrative and logistical responsibilities, including daily specimen pickup, accessioning support, data entry, inventory coordination, and general operational assistance. Key Responsibilities Perform daily pickup of patient specimens from designated USPS mailbox/PO Box locations and transport specimens to the laboratory Receive, sort, accession, and process incoming specimen packages Verify specimens meet laboratory acceptance criteria and properly document non-testable specimens Enter and verify specimen information within laboratory systems and databases Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, tracking logs, inventory documentation, and operational reporting Receive and log laboratory supply deliveries Support laboratory workflow coordination and communication between departments Assist with manual result entry and verification as needed Maintain accurate records and adhere to all laboratory quality and compliance procedures Notify laboratory leadership of any procedural deviations or specimen concerns Support additional laboratory and administrative projects as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or prior healthcare/laboratory experience preferred Strong organizational and administrative skills Comfortable working with data entry systems and laboratory software Ability to manage daily specimen transport and maintain chain-of-custody procedures Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Previous laboratory, medical office, logistics, or specimen handling experience preferred Compensation & Reimbursement Hourly, non-exempt position Mileage reimbursement provided for daily specimen pickup and transportation responsibilities Potential for overtime based on operational needs Work Environment Combination of laboratory, administrative office, and local travel responsibilities May require standing, lifting packages/supplies, and handling biological specimens using proper safety procedures Continuing Education Employees in this role are expected to complete ongoing training and annual continuing education in accordance with laboratory policy and regulatory requirements.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
