is working to keep children safe, helping individuals and families become self-sufficient, and providing safe refuge during disasters. T his position is located in New Orleans, LA in the Orleans Regional Child Support Office. This is an essential administrative position which provides support to the core mission of the Department of Children and Family Services. The position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants and clients of the Child Support Enforcement Office. Job Duties:
Assist Attorneys with case preparations Independently prepares appropriate legal pleading, schedules appointments, obtains signatures on various forms, and documents pertinent data Maintains an effective record management and legal tracking process, utilizing computer systems and seeks opportunities to improve Assist as necessary in locating physical case records Conducts computer searches as needed to determine if case duplications exist and routes duplicated files appropriately to assure file merge Updates LASES (Louisiana Automated Support Enforcement System) from case record Processes mail, including sorting, researching, and distributing to assure accurate delivery to appropriate parties Provides coverage as assigned to the receptionist desk, including greeting customers, assuring that necessary documents are completed, responding to inquiries, directing customers to designated areas of offices, contacting analyst/attorneys to advise of customer presence and/or issues, and related tasks Performs related duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the
Department Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:
This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Career Progression :
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, 3 or 4. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
Work Schedule:
Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
