Job Description
New Skete Management, LLC oversees the operations of a Christian Monastic Community in Cambridge, NY. The Nuns of New Skete are famous for their world-class cheesecake and other baked goods, and the Monks of New Skete are renowned for their breeding of German Shepherds and training of all dog breeds. New Skete offers a relaxed and friendly work environment that is truly unique. We are currently seeking an Administrative Coordinator to provide essential administrative support to the monastic community and staff. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this non-exempt position provides support to other Directors (Marketing, Development) to execute their roles, and assists the operations with accounting, purchasing, marketing, fundraising, event coordination and simple IT issues as needed. The role will interface with monastics and staff at all levels, and will execute a wide variety of tasks with a focus on excellent customer service. Specifically, the Administrative Coordinator will:
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain records, spreadsheets, and basic databases.
- Order and manage office supplies, ensuring adequate inventory.
- Assist with mailings, including preparation, labeling, and coordination of bulk or special mailings.
- Provide general administrative assistance to monastics and staff as needed, supporting basic office organization and workflow coordination.
- Provide hands-on assistance with event preparation and execution.
- Provide basic assistance with IT systems, including email, printers, and commonly used software. Help users troubleshoot common issues or determine when escalation is needed.
- Set up and operate standard audio/visual equipment, including LED projectors and basic presentation systems.
