Job Description

Purpose:
The Communications and Administrative Coordinator supports the mission and ministry of SVA Church by helping turn communication priorities into clear, timely, and engaging content while providing dependable administrative support to the Executive Pastor and ministry team. Working under the direction of the Executive Pastor, this role coordinates communication projects, creates and updates content, maintains communication channels, and helps ensure ministry information is accurate and well organized. The position also supports the church's day-to-day operations through scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, event coordination, and other administrative responsibilities. The Executive Pastor provides overall communications strategy, establishes priorities, directs major messaging and campaigns, and retains primary responsibility for brand and graphic direction. The Coordinator helps carry those priorities from planning through execution.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Communications Coordination and Execution
  • Receive and organize ministry communication requests.
  • Maintain a communications calendar and project workflow.
  • Track deadlines, approvals, and distribution.
  • Coordinate with ministry leaders to obtain accurate information.
  • Proofread materials and maintain consistency. Content and Creative Support
  • Draft and edit email, website, social, announcement, and print content.
  • Create or adapt routine graphics and ministry materials within established brand direction.
  • Assist the Executive Pastor with larger creative projects and campaigns.
  • Prepare files and coordinate printing, signage, and outside vendors. Digital Channel Management
  • Keep the website, newsletter, social platforms, calendars, and other channels current.
  • Schedule approved content.
  • Monitor basic engagement and report useful observations.
  • Maintain organized communication and creative assets. Executive and Ministry Administration
  • Provide consistent administrative support to the Executive Pastor and pastoral team, helping organize priorities, information, and follow-up.
  • Serve as a welcoming and helpful point of contact for guests, vendors, ministry partners, and others interacting with the church during designated office hours.
  • Coordinate facility-use requests, reservations, required documentation, and communication with external groups.
  • Support ministry events and church-wide initiatives through registration, purchasing, printing, hospitality coordination, and other administrative logistics.
  • Maintain commonly used office and ministry supplies, monitor inventory, and coordinate purchasing and reordering.
  • Assist with special projects and other administrative needs that support the effective day-to-day operation of the church.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • A mature and growing relationship with Jesus, a love for the local church, and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of SVA Church.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, requests, and ongoing responsibilities.
  • A dependable, proactive approach to work, with the ability to take initiative, solve problems, and follow projects through to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing, proofreading, grammar, and attention to detail.
  • The ability to translate established communication priorities into clear, timely, and engaging content for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • Experience drafting and coordinating content for websites, email, social media, print materials, announcements, and other communication platforms.
  • Comfortable creating and adapting routine graphics and communication materials using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar platforms while working within established brand and design direction.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to gather information, clarify requests, receive feedback, and work effectively with staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, vendors, and community members.
  • Good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information, pastoral communication, and administrative matters.
  • Proficiency with—or the ability to quickly learn—digital communication, scheduling, project-management, and church-management tools such as Planning Center.
  • Flexibility and a service-oriented mindset, with the ability to move effectively between creative projects, communication coordination, and administrative responsibilities.
  • An openness to direction and feedback, with the ability to support the Executive Pastor's communication strategy and carry approved priorities through to completion.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
