Our office has been serving the Spokane area for over 55 years! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and insurance companies, ensuring smooth communication and efficient management of medical records and referrals. Your expertise will help facilitate seamless patient care coordination while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and follow-up communications with professionalism and efficiency. Coordinate incoming and outgoing referrals, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurately processed. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance prior authorization requests, and confirm patient eligibility using electronic health records (EHR) systems. Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of clinical notes, billing information, and referral details in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Utilize medical coding systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to ensure proper billing and documentation. Communicate effectively with claims adjusters, attorneys, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to facilitate claims processing and resolve coverage issues. Support the medical office team by preparing reports, managing correspondence, and handling administrative tasks using Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat. Ensure compliance with health insurance policies and office procedures while providing excellent customer service to patients and providers. Cover the front desk as needed. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or chiropractic setting is required. Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care processes, 3rd party claims, insurance verification, and prior authorization procedures. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems and medical billing software is essential. Our office uses ChiroTouch. Proficiency in medical terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and medical records management. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and healthcare compliance standards. Outstanding customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
